so he chose this place called "四川豆花饭莊"
that's like at the 60th floor of the UOB centre, and we had to change lifts 3 times coz each set of lifts only serves a particular range of levels, like from B1 to 2, 2 to 38, 38 to 42 and 42 to 60...
but when we got there, it was quite an atas place, and the hazzle of taking the lifts were worth it man! take a look at the view!!!

could see the entire marina bay area, all the way up to the new marina barrage!
but anyway, here's taige and mo =D took a photo of them coz they were sitting across from me. all the other photos are on taige's cam =D

and the food was great sia!!! at 38.80 ++, it was a tad ex, but with the quality of food, i think the price was worth it! It was an ala carte lunch dim sum buffet, so we had quite a lot of waiting to do, but they were definitely worth the wait. There were 100 items on the list, but of course we couldn't try everything =P and as always, there are no photos of food on our row outings, coz we normally attack our food the second we see it, and only remember that we're supposed to take photos when we're half satieted, which is too late =D but take my word for it, it was GOOD sia. there were steamed stuff, including buns, various kinds of siew mai and dumplings, including one quail's egg siew mai, which was pretty unique and tasted fabulous; there were noodles and porridge, and i tried the liang mian(which i thought was too tough) and century egg porridge which was nice and gooey like i like it.... and xiao long bao!!! done the correct way with thin skin and lots of fragrant and sweet soup inside (basically the stuff came in personal portions, just like minori...)
then there were the fried stuff with some special carrot cake with conpoy(dunno what it is) which the girls said was the best they had ever tasted coz it was crispy on the outside and nice and mushy on the inside...
and there were the cold dishes, but considering that it was sze chuan cuisine, most of it was soaked in chilli or chilli oil, and woon yang couldnt take it and asked for iced water =D some of it was spicy enough for me to taste it, but they were delicious all the same, with 口水鸡 and some beef and pork in chili oil =D nice nice nice...
then there was the desert... omg... highlight of the day, coz something damn stupid happened. when we asked the waiter to take our desert orders, just when i had opened my menu, taige told the waiter to give us one of everything (there are 20 dessert items) and me and woon yang went "HAH?!" apparently the girls thought that he meant one of each (so 20 bowls) to share, but actually tiger meant one of each for each of us (so HUNDRED BOWLS)... and in the end we managed to cut it down to 20x3 instead of x5... and here is our desert in all it's glory...
omg... we were all damn sian diao, coz obviously we ordered too much... the lazy susan didnt have enough space for everything lah!!! (according to taige, when he comes with his parents for dinner it's 15 items and they have one of everything each, so he thought it would be ok)
and after a lot of laughing, joking and gulping down each bowl in one shot -->
too bad i didnt take a photo of the entire table... coz the difference in the before and after shot were pretty amazing... notice the sheer height of the bowls stacked in front of taige =D we were quite amazed that we managed to cut it down to such a number, but luckily after the table filled up and the waiter asked for our last orders, we told him that they could forget abt the rest of our orders, and like at least 7 bowls didnt turn up, or it could have been worse... but seriously we had to work to clear the table, so much so that we gave up using spoons =D
but anyway, the present we gave taige was a working shirt from topman, and the watering can next to him in the photo, which said taige we (heart) you on one side and happy 21st on the other (mo yin forgot that he was one year older than us like her) with plastic flowers in it and heart ornaments hanging from it. mo is super creative in designing birthday presents =D and her house is like even better stocked than some arts and crafts shops lah...
so after lunch we went down to meet vicky, who appeared with her super low husky voice =D and then we walked to bugis coz we wanted to walk all the calories off and coz eunice wanted to buy some stuff and i wanted to go to the national library, and we generally just followed eunice ard in her shopping (including her shopping spree in body shop =D) and then they all left one by one till left me and eunice, and i stayed with her till she left to help her find her way ard all the shops to get what she wanted =D then when she left for pot luck at stephen's house i went to the nat lib to try to find 倚天屠龙记 but couldnt find it, so i borrowed some terry pratchets instead...
then i went to cold storage to find turkey ham for rujia's party... but ended up i realised that nobody sells turkey ham anymore, so i went home at abt 9, and didnt eat dinner in the end coz i was still full from lunch =D
and that sums up my exciting post exam day =D seriously, great food, great fun, great company! great start to the hols man!
