nobody goes to pasir ris unless you're booking in) and one of the 2 places i go to the most, mainly when i need to get dinner for myself. according to yue yen it has interesting stores in the 2 malls, set side by side, though i think after 19 years, i'm quite sick of them.
Simei - i dunno. CGH, my first clinicals :D
Tanah Merah - the only times i go there are to go to the japanese autumn festival, which was sadly closed to the public last year. nice times there with great friends.
Bedok - i love this place =) nice greenery (my block's green), nice waterviews (reservoir's just a min away, that's why my place's reservoir VIEW), nice people (i live there), nice and quiet =) one of the best places to grow old in, where everything is slow, pple are friendly, with none of the rush and bustle typical of new towns.
Kembangan - erm. gan ma's house. used to go there to play a lot when i was young. but i guess i grew apart from them... my godsister suggested maybe it's because i grew up and wasn't comfortable being around 3 girls anymore =D
Eunos - don't really go there often... nothing much there anyways =D hmz. last time was to gary's house, which was quite amazing, 3 drunks and 1 not drunk (me) bitching like girls in the middle of the night and heng lip trying to deny his state.
Paya Lebar - strangely, spent a whole lot of time there, coz there are damn nice rattan chairs outside the food court at the singapore post building and there's isn't a nicer place in the east to study for the A's. loads of squabbling and bantering because i was studying with owl =S fun to see her give the =S face when she sees me reading bio notes at an amazing speed though =D
Aljunied - nothing much there either, geylang's there =) only see it as this far away MRT station everytime i'm on 67
Kallang - all the sports meets we're forced to go to, all the national days, and one very very memorable sing-a-long to commemorate the destruction of one of our nation's favourite places.
Lavender - woohoo. beach road market, the saviours of all those NS guys who lose stuff and dont want to sign extras by owning up. we were joking that since they sold blank attachments and washers, maybe we could buy an entire rifle in parts...
Bugis - one of my favourite haunts. not exactly favourite, but most convenient, probably =D loads of shops to grab last minute presents, and quite nice food at waterloo street, where i normally go to after going sim lim to get cheap comp stuff...
City hall - =) one of our favourite places, mainly coz there's Gv at marina where i can get discount tickets and there's quite a lot of stuff to do there. of coz there're the suntec and esplanade rooftops, and where we started our arts walk ard town, one of the happiest days of my life, and where i got the excuses =)
raffles place - 我们的黄城...... bah. still cant believe i cried in the second year after curtain call, but it just felt soooo good and so sad, at the same time. never mind! OT2's there! YAY! where VT and the miracle tree are.
tanjong pagar - er. nothing for me here...
outram park - CHINATOWN MARKET! damn nice food. damn NICE food. and the very fun carpark entrance which was the only reason for me to like going there when i was a kid.
tiong bahru - used to go there a lot, coz apparently the only doctor who could control my asthma when i was young has his clinic there, though now he's moving to taka. nice guy:) very friendly, and a very very caring and thoughtful doctor. hoping i can be like him when i graduate, even though he's just a GP to some =)
Redhill - er. so it's red. because of some bloodthingy. cant remember the legend
queenstown - ikea and it's nice meatballs, which are apparently only 2 stops away from NUS. and where we almost got lost on the way to tanglin camp, the start to a wondrous journey to discover the arts and more =)
Commonwealth - something we're not part of
Buona Vista - very exciting place! especially when you see the 95 turning the bend and you realise you're still on the other side of the bridge and that even if you were on the correct side, the bus stop was still FREAKING far away and you get to wonder if all that running every morning was going to get you to pass 2.4
Dover - used to love the design, till i realised that sometimes i only have 1 min to get from one side of the platform to the other when i oversleep past my buona vista stop and lecture's at 8. again i wonder if i'll pass 2.4 or at least shuttle run. i think some of the passengers who get off there are used to seeing a maniac run down the stairs on one side just to run up the other flight of stairs to catch the train going the other way when at other stations the doors to the trains are just 5 m apart and at dover, it's less than a metre, yet i'm wheezing by the time i cross that metre.
clementi - my first introduction to NUS i guess, during HSSRP, on the way to FASS. i moan the loss of the last A&W outlets in singapore.
jurong east - ice skating, mainly. lots of falling and skating like a penguin
chinese garden - every year i tell myself to go and look at the nice chinese new year decorations, and every year i shiver when i think of all the people who are having the same thoughts as me
lakeside - only time been there is yongliang's birthday bbq at bernice's house=D so lovey dovey
boon lay - argh... warrent lange... argh... more than 2 hours to get to camp, resulting in poor people like me who have to book in the night before *sobs* though luckily there's teck yen, my stay in and talk cock buddy =D
North-South(never been to 50% of the places)
Bukit batok - west mall... amazingly been there loads of times considering it's crazily far from my house. blame it on HC being too close to it. oh well. at least being there today was nice =) really depends on the company. hahahaha.
Bukit gombak - jia's house. i think. nothing much else there.
Choa chu kang - ah ma's there *nods*
Yew tee - funny english name, even funnier chinese name - oil pool...
Kranji - erm. dunno. really dunno. there's a reservoir there?
Marsiling - dunno again. no reservoirs.
Woodlands - erm. one of the places where i thought IMH was at (hey it's called WOODbridge right)... apparently it has a super nice library but it's like the other end of the world for me
Admiralty - is it because an admiral lived there or because it's a place of envy?
Sembawang - there's a nice bottle tree restaurant there, where my cousin treated *muahaha* well he deserved to since it was only then we found out he thought my sister was wei wei and i was wei wen. damn funny, coz they never call me by name and evbody on my mother's side calls my sis wei wei. so he was wondering who the junwen in my sis' sms was. and the dinner was last year.
Yishun - amazingly i only need 30 min to get there by bus (969's a saviour). where SMM is =) my most wondrous time in the army. great friends, pity i dont have the habit of staying in touch though...
Yio chu kang - kept thinking ah ma's there (haha)
Ang mo kio - mouse's there, aik's there, jinhin's close.
Bishan - MOELC =) says it all. pity i had to quit or mdm tan will bug me and ask why i'm doing 11 subs, and coz my jap sucks... where i attended lessons not because i was forced to, neither was it because i liked the curriculum...
Braddell - dunno.
Toa payoh - loads of K box, coz it's sort of a compromise since evbody can get there in half an hour. Medical outreach programme and CIP of sorts, where the M2's and on pretended to be doctors and i pretended to be an usher
Novena - TTSH's there. quite impt in a few years' time.
Newton - er. ENV's there, and the super rip off hawker center.
Orchard - Hang out of schools in the bukit timah region, but not really going there often now coz i dont like crowds and city hall's a nicer place.
Somerset - Mushroom pot! woohoo. nice but slightly ex noodles. as i like to tell friends who ask me what's nice there : FUNGI!
Dhoby ghaut - PS' a nice enough place. and fort canning and where drama centre used to be. "坐在梯级上的人不可以做人!"
Marina Bay - kite flying after 8 years, loads of nice but diarrhoea inducing steamboat buffets.
North - East
Harbourfront - Vivocity. i bet everybody will say this place, but it holds special memories for us =) where we went to watch a very fitting movie after spots (300), and i think people in the row infront of us must think we're sadists for laughing at flying body parts. gateway to sentosa, an overrated place, that's expensive and rather boring. bluff kids only.
chinatown - not the chinatown i know =D since i only frequent the people's park area.
clarke quay - dont really club or pub.
little india - pass through it everyday, but sadly not really good with that place. coz i never get off. except for tekka centre. nice nasi briyani and kambing soup =D and simlim!
farrer park - er. where the radio stations are?
boon keng - has my name in it.
potong pasir - reminds me of the classic ice cream. i love the yam, durian and red bean ones.
serangoon - er. where ber is. and one very failed attempt at being a tuition teacher
kovan - dunno.
hougang - jinhin's there
buang kok - blur slacker
seng kang - ulu place that's destined for uluness
punggol - alvin and my ex-comic and anime source. argh. why did he have to move. he used to be a nice bicycle ride away...
finally done... feels like i took the trains physically...
